Contents of Cyclades Island Hopping Itinerary
Here’s a 7-days Cyclades hopping itinerary that includes three islands: Mykonos, Tinos, and Andros.
If you can add two more days to it, you can also spend two nights on Syros.
Both itineraries assume that you start and end in Athens. They include both flying and ferries.
1. Cyclades Island Hopping One Week Itinerary
7 days are not enough to visit more than three islands, provided that you want to have at least one full day on each island.
This Cycladic itinerary assumes you’ve already visited Santorini, so you won’t include it in your plans.
For saving time, it’s best to fly from Athens to the farthest island, then use ferries to hop to islands closer to Athens.
Athens to Mykonos
Begin your adventure by flying from Athens to Mykonos. There are lots of flights at different times of the day, so you’ll surely find one that suits you.
Choose a hotel or an apartment in Chora or near it, in order to be close to the iconic windmills, and lively nightlife. If timer allows, visit the Archaeological Museum.
Spend two nights on Mykonos. This will allow you one full day for proper exploration.
Top sights in Mykonos include the historical windmills, the Church of Panagia Paraportiani, Armenistis Lighthouse, Paradise beach, Agios Sostis beach, and Agrari beach.
Mykonos to Tinos
After bidding farewell to Mykonos, hop on a ferry and set sail for the tranquil island of Tinos.
There are several boats per day. The duration of the ride is about 30 minutes and the price is 10 Euro.
With its rich religious heritage and stunning landscapes, Tinos offers a unique blend of spirituality and natural beauty.
Spend two nights wandering through the charming villages, visiting the revered Panagia Evangelistria monastery, and savoring the authentic flavors of local cuisine.
Tinos to Andros
Continue your odyssey by embarking on a ferry ride to the verdant island of Andros.
There are several boats a day. The journey takes one hour and a half and it costs about 20 Euro.
Known for its lush greenery, pristine beaches, and traditional architecture, Andros is a true gem in the Cyclades.
Spend two nights exploring the island’s hiking trails, discovering hidden coves, and immersing yourself in the laid-back island lifestyle.
Andros to Rafina
As your island-hopping adventure draws to a close, take a ferry from Andros to the mainland port of Rafina.
This is a 2 hours’ ride that will cost you 25 Euro.
Spend one final night in Rafina, savoring the last moments of your Cycladic experience.
Stroll along the promenade, indulge in fresh seafood, and reminisce about the unforgettable memories you’ve created.
Rafina is a short taxi ride away from the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos.
This itinerary offers a perfect balance of relaxation, cultural exploration, and island-hopping bliss.
Embrace the unique charms of each island, create lasting memories, and experience the true essence of the Cyclades.
I intend to do it late April, but I think the best time for such an itinerary would be May or early June.
2. Cyclades Island Hopping 10 Days Itinerary
The first part of the itinerary is identical to the above one.
- Mykonos – 2 nights
- Tinos – 2 nights
From Tinos, you take the ferry to Syros.
Spend two nights on Syros, then take a ferry to Andros.
Spend two nights on Andros, then one last night in Rafina.
If you can add more time to your trip, spend 4 days in Santorini in the beginning of your island hopping journey.
