If you’ve been following Offbeat Greece for a while you know how much I love Imerovigli.

Located only 2km away from Fira, Imerovigli is, in my opinion, the most beautiful town in Santorini. Its narrow cobbled streets, its whitewashed houses and its traditional blue-domed churches create a postcard-worthy setting you’ll fall in love with at first sight. Imerovigli features quaint cafes, charming shops, and fine dining restaurants that serve delicious Greek cuisine, so you’ll have everything you need for your stay.

One of the highlights of Imerovigli is the Skaros Rock, a rocky outcrop that offers magnificent views of the surroundings. It was once a medieval fortress and now provides a unique spot for exploration and photography. The Skaros Rock is one of my top reasons to return to Santorini again, as I’m still to hike to its top.

Imerovigli is also a great base for exploring the rest of Santorini. It is conveniently located between the lively capital of Fira and the picturesque village of Oia, allowing visitors to easily access the island’s popular attractions and beaches. Whether you’re seeking stunning views, a romantic atmosphere, or a peaceful retreat for adult travelers, Imerovigli is a hidden gem that promises a memorable experience on the enchanting island of Santorini.

The Cycladic style buildings of this adults only hotel in Santorini are as comfortable as can be. Just check out the Junior suite with outdoor hot tub and caldera view and you’ll see what I mean.

If you don’t mind the sunset crowds, you can stay in Oia. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may have to book restaurants for dinner in advance, just to ensure you’re going to have a table.

Also, I’d choose a hotel a bit away from the main street. I like my privacy, so I wouldn’t be too happy to see people passing by my window or by my private hot tub, if you know what I mean.

1. Oia Mare Villas

Located on the Caldera cliff, on the main road to Ammoudi Bay, these cave-style rooms offer breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and of the sunset.

Only some of the studios have private hot tub. If you are keen on having your own hot tub, make sure to book the right type of room.

The location is a bit secluded, which is a good thing. However, this makes it not so accessible to people with mobility issues, as there are unavoidable stairs.

2. Abyss

If you want to splurge on your honeymoon or on another special occasion, the cave-style Abyss suites are the place to book in Santorini.

Balconies, air conditioning, outdoor hot tubs, soundproofing and Caldera views are the norm. The marble floors, the whitewashed walls and the minimalist style make this hotel look extremely sleek without any compromise on the guests’ comfort. Best Adult-Only Hotels in Fira

Fira, or Thera, is the capital town of Santorini. This is where bus lines emerge from to cover other towns and villages on the island.

Fira boasts a pedestrian area that’s bustling with life until late at night. Here you’ll find shops, restaurants and clubs, as well as a crowd of merry people seeking for fun.

There are hundreds of hotels and villas in Fira. It was hard for me to pick only two, but here they are:

1. Amity Suites – Adults Only

The Cycladic style decor of these suites makes them look extremely appealing. The outdoor pool is rather small, but it boasts stunning sunset views over the Caldera.

The terrace features comfy sunbeds and a minibar. You can simply enjoy the sunset in privacy, while sipping a glass of wine or a refreshing cocktail, without the need for finding a place in the crowd.

Located right on the edge of the cliff, this cave-style accommodation features one main building, which is the hotel, and 7 luxury villas with private pools.

Even though it is a bit far from Fira’s center, Volcano View can be a great place to stay for travelers seeking for luxury and tranquillity.

Best Adult-Only Hotels in Firostefani

I stayed in Firostefani during my last trip to Santorini.

Firostefani is only 5-10 minutes away from Fira. It is really convenient for travelers who prefer using the public buses in Santorini.

1. Agnadema Apartments

Agnadema is built right on top of the Caldera cliff, featuring unobstructed views of the Skaros Rock and of the Aegean Sea.

This stylish and welcoming accommodation is only 10-15 minutes of walking away from the center of Fira. This walking path boasts scenic views of the caldera. It is so much better than walking alongside the main road!

Click here to check out the rooms at Agnadema Apartments. Not all of the rooms have sea view, so make sure you read the small print before you book your stay. Apparently, this adult-only hotel in Santorini has free parking, but I don’t know where it is.

2. Santorini View Studios

Santorini View Studios are built in the traditional Cycladic style, with cave rooms, whitewashed walls, round edges, soft pastel tones and dark gray accents.

The location is only a short walk away from Fira, close to many restaurants in the area. There’s also a mini market nearby. Free public parking is possible near the accommodation, but I wouldn’t rely on that in the high season.

What About Other Villages in Santorini? Are There Adult-Only Hotels in Perissa, Kamari, Akrotiri, etc?

Yes, there are such adult only hotels in all Santorini villages. I’ve just chosen to list only the ones on the Caldera rim, first of all due to the impressive views of the volcano and of the Aegean Sea. I also believe the caldera is the main reason why people want to visit Santorini.

Even though you can have an amazing beach holiday in Perissa, Perivolos or Kamari, most people dream of experiencing the Caldera, the Oia sunset and the Fira – Oia hike.
